Dear NobleHost Customers,

We're pleased to announce that you can now order .au domain names directly through NobleHost.

Existing holders of .com.au , .net.au or .org.au domain name licence (registrants) who registered their existing domain name prior to the 24th March 2022 will have the first opportunity to apply for the exact match of their existing domain name at the .au direct level through our 'Priority Allocation' process.

For example: The pre-existing registrant of "your-domain.com.au", can apply for Priority Status of "your-domain.au"

The Priority Allocation period is due to end 20th of September 2022. Beyond this date, all unregistered .au domains will then be available on a first come, first served basis - and if you haven't ordered by then, you may miss out on your opportunity to register your matching .au domain name.

How much does it cost and can I register for more than 1 year?

We charge $14.25 per annum including GST through NobleHost for .au domain names and you can register your .au domain name for up to 5 years (performed at checkout).

Why do I need a .au domain name, when I already have a .com.au ?

To put it simply, you don't have to order a .au domain if you don't want to. We're just letting you know of this offer, because of its exclusivity and it makes good business sense to prevent another business with a similar name or operation to yours from potentially purchasing your matching .au domain name.

Will I lose my .com.au domain name if I register a .au domain?

No. There will be no changes to your existing .com.au domain registration if you order a .au domain name.

Steps to obtain .au domain via priority access scheme

  1. Check your Registrant Contact Email details of your existing .com.au domain (via http://whois.auda.org.au)

Your existing .com.au domain name "registrant contact email" address needs to be correct and accessible as your Priority Token information will be emailed to this address when you apply. You can check your registrant contact email via http://whois.auda.org.au. If you need to update your registrant contact email address, please contact us via support@noblehost.com.au for further assistance.

  2. Lodge request for Priority Token via Priority Allocation Website (see https://priority.auda.org.au)

You will be required to obtain a Priority Token via the above mentioned website, which is needed to order your new .au domain name. When submitting your request, you will need to enter your original domain name. for eg. your-domain.com.au

  3. Wait for Priority Token Information to arrive in your email account

It may take up to 24 hours for this email to arrive, please ensure the registrant contact email address on your original domain name is valid in the first instance. If it's invalid, you simply won't receive your token information.

  4. Order your new .au domain name via our NobleHost Customer Portal

Once you have received your token information, log-on to the NobleHost Customer Portal at https://www.noblehost.com.au and register your new .au domain.
